Electrical Fault Finding

Electrical faults are an ever-looming threat to the safety of your home, and the structure of your schedule. We at Kent Electrical & Fire realise that it is of the utmost importance that you get the issue resolved as quickly as possible, both to minimise risk and to assure that you don’t suffer from interruptions caused by the fault. So, what causes electrical faults in the first place? It’s possible for electrical systems to naturally deteriorate over time due to numerous factors.

These include, but are not limited to:

  • Wear and tear
  • Accidental damage
  • Corrosion
  • Overloading circuits
  • Environmental influences such as burst pipes

These factors can lead to degradation that, if left untreated by an expert electrician, could compromise your health and safety.

Signs that you have an electrical fault

Your electrical systems may be showing signs of damage, but you're unsure how to address them or what they indicate.

For instance, have you noticed any of the following?

  • Flickering lights?
  • Loss of power?
  • Overheating systems or unusually hot cables?
  • Circuit breaker tripping or blown fuses?

Any of these symptoms could indicate an electrical fault. If you suspect this, Kent Electrical & Fire has a trained team ready to quickly arrive at your property and assess any potential issues.

Upon arrival, our electrician will consult with the tenant to understand the nature of the fault and conduct a visual inspection to check for signs of mechanical damage to cables and accessories or visible signs of overheating or corrosion.

If the cause isn’t immediately apparent, further testing will be carried out to diagnose the issue.

Our electricians carry commonly used spare parts, and we also stock some of the less common components at our premises—something many electrical companies in Kent do not offer. This ensures that once the fault is identified, the defective part can be replaced either on the spot or as soon as the necessary component is sourced. After the repair, the circuit will be thoroughly tested to meet safety standards, and an electrical certificate will be provided.
